Immigration Appeals

Are you not satisfied with your New Zealand visa rejection, or handling of your deportation liability case or protected person/refugee status? Immigration Appeals can help you overturn INZ (Immigration New Zealand) decisions. We can help.
If you are in New Zealand and INZ rejects your visa application, the consequences of immediately becoming illegal may haunt you for life. You may be served with a DLN (Deportation Liability Notice). This may even lead to detention or deportation – you may also be banned from ever coming to the country, based on the severity of your situation.
Immigration Appeals may be your last recourse here. You can approach the IPT (Immigration and Protection Tribunal) to raise an Immigration Appeal with them, requesting overturning of the verdict. Read on to know more about the Immigration Appeals process.
Immigration Appeals are one of the trickiest New Zealand immigration processes. It takes a trained, experienced, and tactful approach to succeed in such cases. What is IPT's role in New Zealand Immigration?

IPT functions under the umbrella of the NZ Ministry of Justice. The 18-member tribunal, recommended by the Minister of Justice and appointed by the Governor-General, is headed by a District Court Judge.
This independent body has been set up to take up appeals against the INZ decisions related to visa adjudications and deportations. IPT also hears petitions where there are concerns in the way INZ recognizes a person as protected or a refugee.
Here is a partial list of the matters in which you can make an Immigration Appeal with the IPT:
  • Deportation liability
  • Residence visa decisions
  • Change of status for a refugee or a protected person
It is not easy to get IPT to overturn an INZ decision, though not impossible. Our licensed immigration experts know just how to succeed. Their approach to handling the Immigration Appeals cases includes a meticulous study of your situation, knowledge of immigration laws and past decisions, combined with well-articulated representation.
